If you’ve ever stared at the Brawl Stars shop wishing you could grab that new legendary skin, premium Brawl Pass, or exclusive pin without dropping real cash, you’re not alone. Millions of players search for how to get free gems in Brawl Stars 2023 every month, and most end up falling for fake scam sites that promise thousands of gems for free, only to steal their account details or infect their device with malware. I’ve been playing Brawl Stars on and off for 4 years, ranked as high as Master 3 in Solo Showdown, and I’ve tested every supposed free gem method I’ve come across to separate the legit options from the total garbage. This guide only covers methods approved by Supercell, so you never have to worry about losing your account or wasting hours on fake hacks.
Daily and Weekly Login Rewards: The Easiest Passive Free Gem Source
Most players skip over the small daily rewards, but they add up way faster than you think. The free tier of the Brawl Pass gives out gems every few tiers, even if you never pay for the premium pass. You also get occasional gem drops from the daily free shop rotation, plus rewards from seasonal login events that run every 4-6 weeks. You can earn up to 90 free gems per season just from the free Brawl Pass track alone, no extra work required beyond logging in and completing a few quick matches. Make sure you claim every free login reward, even if you don’t plan to play matches that day. I once saved up enough for a premium Brawl Pass in 2 seasons just by logging in daily and claiming these free rewards, no extra grinding needed. The only catch is you have to remember to check in every day, even if you only have 2 minutes to open the app and claim your reward. It’s such a small task, but it’s the most consistent free gem method available right now.
Event Challenges: How to Get Free Gems in Brawl Stars 2023 Fast
Supercell runs new themed challenges every week, and almost all of them offer gem rewards for completing specific objectives. These challenges range from winning 3 matches in Showdown to getting 10 kills with a specific brawler, and they’re accessible to players of all skill levels, not just high-ranked pros. Challenges give out between 10 and 50 gems per completion, making them the fastest way to earn big batches of free gems at once. If you’re worried about losing challenge matches and missing out on rewards, you can team up with friends to lower your risk of losing. I always play challenge matches with 2 of my clanmates, and we’ve only failed 2 challenges in the last year. Just make sure you read the challenge rules carefully before you start, so you don’t waste a match playing the wrong mode or using a banned brawler. Some of the highest-reward recurring challenges include:
Even if you don’t finish a full challenge, you still get partial rewards for the matches you do win, so it’s always worth signing up for every challenge that pops up in your event tab. You don’t have to be a top player to earn rewards from these, either—most casual players can complete at least 70% of available challenges every month with minimal effort. If you’re looking to maximize how to get free gems in Brawl Stars 2023, prioritizing challenges should be your first step, since they give the highest return on time invested.
Clan Wars and Community Rewards: Free Gems for Playing With Others
Joining an active clan is one of the most underrated ways to earn free gems, plus it makes the game way more fun overall. Every week, clans compete in Clan Wars, and you earn rewards based on your clan’s final ranking at the end of the war cycle. Top 10 clans in their tier get up to 30 free gems per member, plus extra coins and power points for brawler upgrades. You don’t even have to be the best player on your team to contribute—just play all your allocated war matches, and you’ll help your clan rank higher. I joined a mid-tier clan last year, and we usually rank top 5 in our division, so I get 20-25 extra gems every week without any extra grinding beyond my normal playtime. You can also earn random gem drops from clan gift boxes, which clan members get for purchasing items in the shop or completing big challenges. Even if a clan member buys something, every other member gets a free gift box that can have coins, power points, or even 10+ gems inside. If you’re a new player, don’t be intimidated to join a clan—most mid-tier clans are happy to accept new players as long as you’re active and play your war matches every week. The only thing to watch out for is inactive clans—if no one plays war matches or buys items, you won’t get any extra rewards, so make sure you join a clan with at least 20 active players.
What to Avoid: Fake Free Gem Scams That Risk Your Account
For every legit free gem method, there are 10 fake scams that promise you thousands of free gems in exchange for your account login, personal information, or downloading a random app. Any site or app that asks you to enter your Supercell ID password to get free gems is 100% a scam, no exceptions. Supercell never gives out free gems through third-party sites, so there’s no way these services are legitimate. I’ve had multiple friends lose accounts they played on for years because they entered their login details on a fake free gem site, and Supercell almost never restores accounts that are compromised from sharing login info. You should also avoid any “gem generator” apps that ask you to complete surveys or download other apps to earn gems. Most of these apps steal your personal data, and even the few that do give you rewards will make you spend 10+ hours on surveys just to get 50 gems, which is not worth your time at all. Another common scam is people messaging you in-game or on social media offering to sell you cheap gems or give you free gems if you send them your account info. These people are always scammers, and they’ll either steal your account, take your money and send you nothing, or get your account banned for violating Supercell’s terms of service. Supercell explicitly bans buying or selling gems outside of the official in-game shop, so even if you find a seller that seems legitimate, you risk getting your account permanently banned. If a free gem offer sounds too good to be true, it almost always is. Stick to the in-game methods we covered earlier, and you’ll never have to worry about losing your account or getting scammed.
Earning free gems doesn’t have to involve risky hacks or wasting hours on fake scam sites. If you stick to the legit methods we covered, you can easily earn 200+ free gems every month without spending a single dollar. Knowing how to get free gems in Brawl Stars 2023 is all about being consistent with daily logins, taking advantage of every event challenge, and joining an active clan to get extra weekly rewards. Take 10 minutes today to check your event tab for active challenges, make sure you’ve claimed all your daily rewards, and if you’re not in a clan yet, look for one with active members to start earning extra rewards right away. You’ll have enough gems for that skin or premium Brawl Pass before you know it, no real money required.
